Independent · no ratings · no bookings
Hotels described, not scored.
Four kinds of hotel, written about at length: what the building is, how the rooms work, and what is actually on site. No stars, no scores, nothing to book.
Most hotel listings compress a building into a rating and a row of icons. That is fine for sorting and useless for deciding. This index does the opposite: each entry is a couple of paragraphs of plain description, followed by a short set of facts that are true in general and unlikely to expire.
Nothing here is sponsored, and no property pays to appear. We are not a booking agent and hold no inventory — when you have decided, go to the hotel. The categories below are the whole site.
The four categories
- Art HotelsHotels where the building, the collection or the interior is the reason to book.
- Capsule HotelsCompact, efficient rooms built around a short stay rather than a long one.
- Casino HotelsFull-service hotels that happen to include a gaming floor among their facilities.
- Ice HotelsSeasonal structures rebuilt from snow and ice each winter.
